There is no up front money to the Contractor. Be sure your Contractor has the ability to start the project without up front money.
Contractors working on homes built before 1978 that contain lead based paint must be trained, EPA certified and meet all Lead Safe Work Practices requirements.
Fines for non-compliance are up to $37,500 per violation / per day.
- That the contractor has a valid Contractors License
- The license is in good standing with insignificant or no sanctions or lawsuits
- The lender will usually run a credit check on the Contractor to determine if the Contractor has a good record of paying his bills.
- The Contractor must have Workman's Compensation and General Liability insurance.
